CSMG performed a rapid due diligence assessment
for an investor client on two Spanish cable operators that
were considering merging. Key concerns were the status of
the network and physical plant and the competitive situation
facing the companies. CSMG evaluated both the technical elements
and the market environment for the two companies through extensive
research as well as on-the-ground due diligence. We provided
the client, the client's Limited Partners, and other consortium
members with a deeper understanding of the network and market
issues confronting the two companies. Our assistance supported
forecasts for key model drivers in the business case.
CSMG assisted a private equity investor in preparing its bid
for the wireless tower division of a major US wireless carrier.
CSMG led several portions of the overall due diligence, including
the revenue forecast, technology risk assessment, and operational
review. We developed separate bottom-up and top-down forecasts
for the US tower industry, taking into account recent market
developments related to 3G. We also conducted a site-specific
geographic analysis of the tower portfolio to precisely assign
value to over 6,000 sites. Working closely with sister-company
TMNG Operations experts, we concluded a thorough review of
the tower division's key systems and developed a blueprint
for operating the unit as a standalone entity.
